limits at the Southeast with Nicaragua, at the west with Guatemala,
and at the southwest with El Salvador. The North coast of the country
is bathed by the Caribbean Sea and the south by the Pacific Ocean. In
the interior, there is a central mountainous system that crosses the
country from East to West and is crossed by rivers that end as much
at the Caribbean as in the Pacific. The lower lands in the South, form
a plain throughout the coast of the Pacific. In the Gulf of Fonseca,
in the southwest, there are many islands with volcanos. The great fertile
valleys located next to the Caribbean Sea are dedicated mainly to the
banana culture. Nevertheless, also there is a lot of land extensions
that are not apt for agriculture. Most of the population is concentrated
in western half of the country. The area around Puerto Cortés
is highly populated and extends from the Yojoa lake towards the north,
to the Caribbean Sea. |

If you are invited to dinner, you should send flowers to the host before or after the meal. Dressing code is conservative but informal. The use of the beach wear and short trousers must restrict to beaches or swimming pools. For social events, you should only use formal dressing.

Honduras is strategically located in the heart of Central America and is surrounded by high tropical mountains, which provide the country with a variety of different climates. Its northern border is the Caribbean Sea, offering long stretches of beautiful beach, warm weather and friendly people. Just off the coast, the Bay Islands are surrounded by the world’s second largest coral reef.
